Dental Botox Treatment for TMD

Dental Botox is a widely used treatment method for temporomandibular disorder (TMD).

TMD includes disorders of the jaw muscles, temporomandibular joints and nerves associated with chronic facial, jaw symptoms. Dentists may first recommend lifestyle changes and a night guard (occlusal splint) to relieve TMD pain. However, when the symptoms do not improve on their own or through other forms of treatment, dental Botox is an alternative treatment to relieve associated symptoms.

Treatment involves quick series of BOTOX injections in to the facial muscles afflicted by discomfort and pain. This weakens the muscles and relieves jaw tension and pain without affecting talking or chewing. Treatment also helps reduce headaches resulting from teeth clenching and grinding. Call us to find out more. (02) 9874 9900
